Hello [[firstname]], from Sun On My Back RedesignsNow that fall is here and for those of us who live in wetter, colder climates, we are seeking comfort and warmth in our homes. Whether you are living or selling, creating a quiet, cozy space is essential in today's busy world.
Create a quiet space whether it is your sacred space, your contemplative spot, a place to snuggle and read or a place where you allow yourself to dream...
Here are a few ways that you can actually make your space feel safer for living:
- Choose a place in your home that is an area that could be turned into a quiet space, or is already a quiet space.
- Decide what you would like to do here and what décor items do you need to be able to make the space functional for you. For example, if you want to read do you have adequate lighting? Is the chair comfortable? Do you need an ottoman for your feet? Would a comfy throw with lots of warm texture make you feel better here? If this is your meditation room what items do you need to surround yourself to create serenity in this space? What colours should this room be? Maybe your space is your craft room. Many people find this room meditative while they are working on fun things they like to do. It's okay to put a 'Do Not Disturb' sign on your door when you are in your space!
- This is a time where you want to surround yourself with very personal items that allow you to feel good and safe in your space.

Creating warm, inviting vignettes
for selling is a must do!!!
If you were selling this house would you prefer that the entrance to the Master Bedroom be stark and uninviting, or would you rather see it 'staged' with a vignette that says come and sit down?
- Vacant homes and rooms do not sell as well as rooms that show a particular function to them.
- We use a lot of vignettes in staging that actually 'tell a story' - people like to see and experience pleasurable feelings while looking at each room
- You can still apply the Golden Rule of staging 'Less is MORE' while creating vignettes by using lots of textures in your fabrics and accessories.
- Soft, warm lighting makes a room feel inviting and layers of lighting work really well. Try using the new battery operated candles to create ambiance for selling.
- Area rugs on hardwood warm up the look of a room and can create separate functions in a room if it is big enough.
